There comes a time when every person must decide what to do with their life. Time…it’s the one thing that you can give someone that you can never get back. Most people spend an entire lifetime waiting for the right time, the perfect time, and as time passes in the end all they find is time wasted. There’s a time to wait and then there’s a time to Gio. Enter Gio, aka Tio Gio, as he’s called for his love of his fam, a rapper from the City of Phoenix, Arizona. A man with no time to spare and no time to waste but only time to Gio after his dreams. Gio, if the name is not familiar to you now in time it will be. And if you’ve lived in Phoenix then chances are you’ve probably already heard his voice on the radio before as he worked his way up from an intern at Power 92.3 to a full time On-Air Personality (DJ) on Power 98.3, then on 101.5 Live, and back to Power 98.3. The Puerto Rican and Black rapper, or Black Latino as he’s also known by, named Gio is no stranger by any means to the rap scene, as he’s been doing it since before the age of 14. Gio, along with his partners Bootleg Kev and Ramses Ja of the Redy Set Fam have been formulating and planning his coming for quite a while and finally the time has come to Gio.

Having family origin ties to the Bronx and Harlem, New York, Gio, who calls PHOENIX, ARIZONA his home, has a unique style that combines the East and West into a lyrical swag and style that separates him from his fellow peers. He hails from a city, Phoenix, that’s been slept on for far too long and represents for the all that have been ignored, forgotten, and for those that think something’s are impossible. Gio wants to prove that anything is possible if you believe in yourself enough and in your dreams. As he states: “There’s nothing in this world that you cannot do, the only thing that you can’t do is give up.” His passion and zest for the full spectrum of life can be heard in his songs with a dynamic range of music that will take you to the club, being in love, to the things life does, and to not just giving a fuck. “I decided to call myself Gio, not just cause Giovanni is my name but, because there came a moment in my life that I realized that if there’s anything that I ever wanted in life, it was up to me to make it happen and all I had to do is get up off my ass, find the strength, the courage, and will within myself and Gio after it.” This year plans to be a big year for the Phoenix Rapper. And just like the Phoenix, from which the city he’s from is named after, rose from the ashes Gio plans to rise from the doubts, the fears, the can not’s, dream killers, nay sayers, and for all of those that disbelieve, he’s out to prove that you can and that there is no time to waste, only time to Gio.
